The material benefits of engaging with B Corp Standards and Certification are more significant than many people realise:

  • ? Do you view capital as both monetary and human, social, and natural capital?
  • ? Do you want to learn to be more innovative in your industry?
  • ? Do you feel standards and compliance are essential?

B Corporation Certification

B Corporations are companies that have completed a B Impact Assessment, got over 80 points, have accepted the commitments required for B Corporation status, and have submitted their assessment for verification and passed.

The passing requirements for certification are high. In addition, companies must commit to publicly publishing annual impact reports and continue to reduce impact over time, making B Corporations leaders in the sustainability and impact reduction sector.

The B Corp Assessment

You can still benefit from the B Impact Assessment without certification, as it provides a sustainability and impact reduction framework and a roadmap for passing certification. In addition, all the questions within the assessment are about governmental or Sustainable development goals.

Benefits of undertaking a B Impact Assessment

By undertaking the assessment, you will gain both an understanding of your material impact on society and the environment and where you stand in these areas compared to your competitors, giving you all the information and mechanisms required to publish impact reports and implement a long-term sustainability plan into your businesses day-to-day operations.

B Impact Full Assessment

A completed B Impact Assessment is necessary for certification. It is a self-assessment that measures and collates metrics and policies in 5 key areas, Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers, with a final disclosure questionnaire covering potentially problematic industries (for example: alcohol production, arms manufacturing, and nuclear power).

Benefits of being a Certified B Corporation.

The most crucial benefit of B Corporation status is that it proves your business is a force for good globally, increasing your company’s position and giving your employees another reason to be proud to work for you.

By becoming a B Corporation, your company gains a lot more than status; its potential will be forward-thinking and innovative, have the resilience to crisis and change, your company workforce and customer base will benefit from more formal engagement mechanisms and be able to stay ahead of rapidly changing environmental regulations as businesses head towards carbon neutrality.
