We partnered with the BQF a year ago!

As a company, we provide opportunities by embracing ISO (International Organisation of Standardisation) and the B Corp movement in a practical approach, working within your teams to increase your understanding and knowledge to ensure implementation and support to develop, improve and enhance the bottom line.

but who is the BQF?

The British Quality Foundation (BQF) is a UK-based non-profit organisation that promotes excellence and quality in British businesses and public sector organisations. The BQF was founded in 1993 by a group of leading British companies, including British Airways, BT, and GSK, with the support of the UK government’s Department of Trade and Industry.

The BQF provides a range of services to its members, including training, events, and networking opportunities, and offers various certification programs and awards recognizing organisations’ commitment to excellence and quality.

The BQF runs the UK Excellence Awards, which recognise organisations with high levels of excellence and quality in their operations. The awards are open to all organisations, including businesses, charities, and public sector organisations.

How does the BQF promote excellence and quality?

The British Quality Foundation (BQF) plays an important role in promoting excellence in British organisations in several ways:

Providing a framework for excellence: The BQF offers a range of tools and frameworks, such as the EFQM Excellence Model, to help organisations assess their performance and identify areas for improvement. These frameworks provide a structured approach to continuous improvement and help organisations to develop a culture of excellence.

Offering training and development: The BQF provides a range of training and development programs to help individuals and organisations improve their skills and knowledge in areas such as leadership, quality management, and process improvement. This training helps organisations build a workforce capable of delivering excellence.

Recognising and rewarding excellence: The BQF offers certification programs and awards that recognise organisations for their commitment to excellence and quality. These awards provide a valuable opportunity for organisations to benchmark themselves against their peers and showcase their achievements to customers, investors, and other stakeholders.

Facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing: The BQF provides a platform for organisations to network, share best practices, and collaborate on projects. By bringing together individuals and organisations from different sectors and industries, the BQF helps to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

The Excellence awards

The UK Quality Award was established in 1993, to recognise and promote good practice within British business.  The award is now managed and promoted by The British Quality Foundation (the BQF is a not-for-profit body). The BQF manages the quality award and supports organisations who want the business excellence model in any sector regardless of business size.

The BQF is known for creating a networking community to encourage debates, knowledge sharing, seminars, webinars, and best practice conferences. The community developed to over 1,500 within its first two years of practise.

There are three main arms to the BQF: the BQF member’s community, BQF academy (Est in 2009) and the BQF certification and recognition schemes.

What we find great about the BQF.

The BQFs core principle is to place the members at the heart of all their decisions, actions, and plans. The BQF takes pride in its reputation in “enabling excellence in organisations and supporting our members in their excellence journeys has never been more important than it is right now”.

Pragmatic Consultancy Limited have lots in common with the BQF, so it only felt natural to become a training partner with them, the bonus was to be at the awards. At Pragmatic we have developed a unique community, we know that having conversations and sharing information supports the longevity of business relationships. We want to do business in a good way.

The ISO’s and B Corp training and assessments that we have developed to support our clients ensure that we are helping to increase a business’s awareness and knowledge to lessen their impact on others and the planet.

The BQF has a vast amount of understanding and knowledge and actively share this through open events, their members are strong and independent yet open and sharing, this is a community we are proud to be a part of and you might even win an award!

Every conversation is a chance for change or a chance to listen. Businesses must become more aware of their responsibilities, their impact, their reputation, and their role in the future. Pragmatic has started its journey.

Why don’t you start yours?
